Dog Tales: Meet Tony & Lola
Lola went home with her Navy veteran handler, Tony, in December 2020 as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA)!
Lola beamed with pride for the good girl she knows she is! This special pup entered our program destined to be a service dog, however, she showed great promise and ability in many areas but didn’t quite have what it took to pass the required testing, so she had a career change to an emotional support dog.
She wouldn’t have met and fell for her dad, Tony, had this shift not happened as Tony was in need of an ESA rather than a service dog. It was meant to be.
Thanks to Lola’s sponsor The Charitable Foundation San Diego of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services for sponsoring her adoption from San Diego Department of Animal Services Carlsbad shelter, her training and placement with Tony.
Success stories like theirs are only possible with the support of the community, and we are so thankful to all that get behind our life changing mission.
HELP THE MISSION
Every dollar helps us fulfill our mission of saving lives, two at a time™
Supporting our mission allows us to rescue more dogs for our program, and provides the funding we need to support all of their needs from medical care to safe housing over the course of their 12-18 month training program and subsequent training with their veteran handler.
