Dog Tales: Meet Harley
Meet Harley! Harley is a 4 year old german shepherd mix and rescue dog, adopted from the Escondido Humane Society in 2017. She is one of the fluffiest members of the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassador team and she loves meeting new people, especially kiddos!
“She is such a natural and I’m so pleased that she gets to do this work! She gives so much joy to others, I can see she feels equally joyful to receive the love she gets from her therapy work” says Harley’s Mom, Cassie, Dog Trainer and Supervisor for the Shelter to Soldier program.
STS therapy dogs provide visits of love and comfort to active duty military, veterans and their families, and they are an important component of Shelter to Soldier’s community engagement.

Supporting our mission allows us to rescue more dogs for our program, and provides the funding we need to support all of their needs from medical care to safe housing over the course of their 12-18 month training program and subsequent training with their veteran handler.
