Dog Tales: Alumni Meet Ups
Shelter to Soldier alumni meet ups allow our graduated teams to get together and feel the support of their fellow veterans and service dog owners. The teams enjoy the camaraderie, soaking in new adventures, sharing stories, discussing challenges and of course having fun. One of the meet ups this year was at the USS Midway where the teams explored the historical aircraft carrier, working through some challenging small spaces, had some laughs and their dogs helped them manage the stressors of being in a crowded space around new people. Local businesses can support outings like these by sponsoring tickets, lunches and similar. It is a great way to continue to support our graduated teams and interact with our community. Thank you to all that support the STS mission, our dogs and our veterans. You help create moments like these.

Supporting our mission allows us to rescue more dogs for our program, and provides the funding we need to support all of their needs from medical care to safe housing over the course of their 12-18 month training program and subsequent training with their veteran handler.
